COVID-19 – Letters To Vulnerable Patients – Update 2nd April 2020

Please be advised that we are working hard to establish this group of patients.  It is a complex task and a challenge nationally.

If you are concerned that you are an extremely vulnerable patient we advise that you take all appropriate action to self-isolate and follow good hygiene practices as per the government guidelines.

Original message

You may have heard in the press that certain groups of vulnerable patients will be contacted to advise them if they should be shielded for a period of 12 weeks.

Patients classed as Extremely Vulnerable will have already received communication from their specialist, consultant or a member of the transplant coordination team.

We are currently working through a complex process to establish if any of our vulnerable patients should be shielding themselves during this pandemic.

We aim to communicate with this patient group before the end of week commencing 30th March 2020. Please be patient whilst we ensure that the correct information is sent to the correct patients.

If you have not received any communication and consider yourself to be a patient who should be completely shielded for 12 weeks, then you can review the information here: https://digital.nhs.uk/coronavirus/shielded-patient-list.

Thank you for your understanding.
